For businesses that live off the phone

A missed call is not a missed call. It is a job that went to someone else.

Your crew is out. You are up a ladder, under a sink, mid appointment, driving. The phone rings and it rings out.

They do not leave a message and wait for you. They hang up and ring the next company on the list, and by the time you see the missed call they have already been booked in by somebody else.

Most

Callers who reach voicemail hang up without leaving a message, and ring the next company instead.

27 to 62%

The share of calls home services firms miss, largely because the people who could answer are already on a job.

~$300

What one of those jobs is typically worth. Miss one a day through a busy season and the hole is the size of a salary.

The worst part is that you never see it. There is no report of the jobs you did not win. The phone rings out at 8pm, someone else picks up, and the only thing you ever know about it is that the week felt quiet.

What I did about it

So I built someone to pick up instead.

This is a real recording, not a mock-up. She answers, works out what is wrong, books the job around the caller's schedule, and confirms it in writing. Press play and follow along.

Caller

Hi Abby. Can I make an appointment, please, for someone to come and look at the AC?

Abby

Of course. Can you tell me a little about what's going on with your AC?

Caller

Yeah, it's just not cooling. And also, there's a little leak.

Abby

It sounds like there might be a serious issue with your AC. Let's get a technician out to take a look.

Abby

Great. I'll check availability for the next open window. Would you like the earliest possible time today, or a later date?

Caller

Can I have one tomorrow, please, sometime after nine o'clock?

Abby

Let me quickly check availability for you.

Abby

I can schedule a technician to arrive tomorrow, Monday, July 20th, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Does that work for you?

Caller

Yeah, that's perfect.

Abby

Great. Would you like an email confirmation of your visit?

Abby

Let me get that booked for you. Your appointment is all set.

Abby

A technician will arrive tomorrow, Monday, July 20th, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Abby

You'll also receive an email confirmation shortly.

Abby

Is there anything else I can assist you with?

Caller

No, that's all. Thank you very much.

Try to catch her out

Do not take my word for any of that. Ring her.

Abby answers the phones for Summit Air & Heating, a made-up air conditioning company I built as a demo. Ask her about a broken unit, argue with her about times, try to confuse her. She is answering right now.

Live 24/7. It is a US number, so your normal international call charges apply.

She answers on the first ringAny hour. No queue, no voicemail.
She works out what you needJob type, urgency, address, contact.
She books the slotChecks real availability, holds the time.
It lands in the back officeWritten into the calendar, and emailed to you.

This one is a demo. The same system takes real calls elsewhere.

Built once, then tuned against the calls it got wrong in the first month. That tuning is the job, not the setup.

Why this is not the thing you already tried

An answering service takes a message. Abby takes the booking.

  • Voicemail asks them to waitShe handles it while they are still interested, which is the only moment that matters.
  • A phone menu makes them press buttonsShe just talks. The caller does not need to know what department they want.
  • An answering service writes a note for you to action tomorrowShe checks your actual calendar, offers real slots, and holds the time.
  • A new receptionist goes home at fiveShe does not. Nights, weekends, and the middle of your busiest day all look the same to her.
Someone who paid for this

I have already built and run one of these for a real business.

DentiLoop runs an AI receptionist I built, taking real inbound calls for dental practices. Her words, not mine.

★★★★★

He's a true team player who takes ownership and genuinely cares about the outcome. I trust him completely, and I'd happily work with him again on any future project.

What you are actually buying

Her, answering as your company, and me keeping her honest.

  • She answers every call, 24 hours a dayYour business name, your services, your prices, your service area.
  • She qualifies the job before she books itWhat is wrong, how urgent, where, and who to call back.
  • She books into your calendarReal availability, real arrival windows, no double bookings.
  • The details are emailed to you before the caller hangs upYou wake up to the job, not to a voicemail you have to decode.
  • I tune her every month against the calls she got wrongThis is the actual work. A receptionist you never correct is a receptionist nobody is checking.
  • I run it, monitor it, and fix itYou never touch a dashboard, a workflow or a settings page. That is the whole point.
The bit most pages leave out

What she gets wrong, and what she will not do.

"My customers will hate talking to a robot."

Some will clock it. Most people ringing at nine at night with water coming through a ceiling want the problem handled, not a chat. The alternative you are comparing her to is not a friendly human, it is your voicemail.

"What if she books something wrong, or just makes something up?"

Then you would be right to be worried, so here she is refusing a booking. I told her my air conditioning unit was blowing up.

Safety is the top priority.

She gave up the booking. That is the behaviour you want. Anything she is not confident about, she takes a message instead of guessing, and it comes to you. Worst case you are exactly where you are today, except now you have the caller's details.

"I already have an answering service."

Then ask them one question: do they book straight into your calendar, at two in the morning, without ringing you first? If the answer is that they take a message, you are paying someone to write down the job you already lost.

"Can she cancel and reschedule too?"

No, and that is deliberate. Cancellations and reschedules route to you as a message, because those are the calls where getting it wrong costs you a slot and a customer. You stay in control of your own book.

"Does she text people?"

Not yet. She confirms by email today, and that is working. Text messaging is going through carrier verification and I am not going to promise you a date on something outside my control. If someone sells you a text follow-up, ask them to show you one.

"It sounds expensive."

It is $299 a month. In most trades one recovered job covers it, and you are currently losing more than one. If that maths does not work in your business, this is not for you and I will tell you so on the call.

The whole offer, no packages to compare

Her, answering as your company, live in a week.

To set up$499
Then monthly$299/month

Setup covers building her around your business: your services, your prices, your hours, your service area, your calendar, and testing her on real calls before she takes a single one. The monthly covers running her, watching her, and correcting her.

Live in a week Month to month Cancel any time No contract Managed, you touch nothing

One honest limit. I take on four new clients a month. It is me doing the setup and the tuning, not a team, and past four the quality goes. If this month is full I will tell you and give you a date rather than take your money and queue you.

Two ways to start

Call her first. She will do a better job of selling this than I will.

+1 (321) 395-2634

Then, if you want her answering your phone, tell me about your business here and I will come back with what she would need to know and what it looks like set up for you.

Straight to me, not a shared inbox. Replies inside a working day. If it is not a fit, I will say so rather than book you a call.

Pankaj Pahuja

One person builds this, and it is me.

I am Pankaj. I build AI systems for businesses and then run them, so the owner never has to. There is no team, no sales floor and no call centre. That is why I cap it at four a month, and it is also why you can ring a number on this page and hear the actual thing working instead of reading a case study about it.

Still not sure

I film the builds, including the parts that break.

If you want to see how the sausage is made before you talk to me, these are full builds on YouTube, mistakes left in.

One last thing. If you only do one thing on this page, do not fill in the form. Ring the number. It takes ninety seconds and you will know more about whether this works than anything I could write here.
